Music Doing Good Chosen As Part of Coca-Cola Summer Intern Program

We are overjoyed to share that Music Doing Good has been selected to participate in the 2017 Coca-Cola Summer Intern Program!

Music Doing Good in Schools alum Ishmael Esparza will be working with Music Doing Good in Schools for eight weeks. Music Doing Good in Schools Director Aisha Ussery says “Ishmael Esparza has been, and is, a great asset to our program’s growth.”

The Coca-Cola Summer Intern Program helps nonprofit organizations in Houston employ high school students for eight weeks this summer. The students receive a paid internship introducing them to a wide variety of community service organizations and giving them hands on experience related to their area of interest. Selected nonprofit agencies, like yours, receive much needed support from students viewed as future community leaders.

Since 1984, the Coca-Cola Foundation has served as the primary international philanthropic arm of the company. Globally, this year, only 230 organizations were selected to receive funding and Volunteer Houston was one of those organizations. We are thrilled to share our good fortune with you to create a better Houston community.

Coca-Cola Foundation Priority Areas:
Women: economic empowerment and entrepreneurship
Water: access to clean water, water conservation and recycling
Well-Being: education, youth development and other community and civic initiatives
In addition, the Foundation supports many local community programs such as arts and culture, community and economic development programs in the United States, as well as HIV/AIDS prevention and awareness programs in Africa and Latin America.
