Music Doing Good Partners with Project Runway Winner, Chloe Dao

Music Doing Good and Chloe Dao have teamed up to present, “Christmas in July,” a sale of designer purses, benefiting Music Doing Good with Instruments. The event will take place on July 16, 2016, from 11 am to 2 pm at Chloe Dao Boutique, 6127 Kirby Drive, 77005. With a $25 donation, guests can come early for a private preview sale starting at 10 am. The event will feature new and gently used handbags by Coach, Louis Vuitton, Prada, Versace and more. The sale of all Chloe Dao bags, jewelry and clothing will also garner 15% of proceeds to benefit the organization. The event includes live music by Music Doing Good scholarship recipients, cocktails, valet parking and ice cream.

Music Doing Good with Instruments collects, refurbishes and redistributes instruments to individual students and schools that wish to create or maintain orchestra and band programs.

As winner of Season 2 of Project Runway, Chloe Dao made her mark in fashion while winning the hearts of the American public on the successful television show. She graduated from New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology in 1994. After working for several years in NYC, Chloe returned to Houston in 2000 to open Lot 8, her own boutique, and a reference to the eight Dao sisters in her family. Dao’s reputation for understanding women and their bodies landed her a contract with Dove as their national spokesperson for the “Sleeveless Ready” campaign. In 2013, she also returned to Project Runway Vietnam as a judge.

“As a second-time event, we are ecstatic about partnering with Chloe Dao for our Sidewalk Sale! It is an honor to work with someone who is clearly so talented and who believes strongly about giving back to the community. Repairs for used instruments are often costly and the demand is high with so many students in need. For many of them, receiving their own instrument determines whether they can continue to study music. Music Doing Good has found a dear friend in Chloe Dao,” remarks president and founder, Marie Taylor Bosarge.
