Marie’s Notes: Reflections

In the words of inspirational author, Shannon L. Adler, “Beauty is not who you are on the outside, it is the wisdom and time you gave away to save another struggling soul like you.”

We do not always understand the circumstances in which we find ourselves. And no matter what our circumstances, each of us is facing a kind of quiet challenge. When I look around me, I see so many families — so many children struggling to get through the basic throes of life. There is often little inspiration in that.

Empathy is our ability to see ourselves in others and to treat our fellow human beings the way we wish to be treated. It really is our duty in this life. For me, the motivation and inspiration has always come from music. It is like a current in the water that carries creativity, comfort, connection and of course, reflection.

My challenge to us all is to become quiet and conscious and to see ourselves in those around us who need that spark of inspiration. Because I can tell you, they are everywhere. Someday, it may be you who needs a dose of inspiration.

I hope that you will join us on April 27th at Chateau Carnarvon for “Reflections.” Come see, first hand, what music can do for children in need. Follow this link to reserve your seat www.tinyurl.com/PLC042717.

“Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards,” said Søren Kierkegaard. Perhaps this is true, which is why we must always strive to be in service.
