Summer is here and soon we will be joined by the all-stars of Music Doing Good in Schools for their summer internship, Good Job! For the fourth year in a row, students return for a week in the summer to continue learning with us. Good Job! begins on July 9th and runs through the 13th.
This summer, students will focus on the importance of mentoring to their peers. With many students returning to the program year after year, they find themselves in a unique position to mentor newer, incoming students and take on leadership roles. Music Doing Good in Schools depends on our “veterans” to help those who are learning the ropes. However, even within the newest student population, Askew Elementary, mentors arose over the course of the year and peer to peer learning became a vital part of the program.
Good Job! is always a good time, so we are looking forward to spending a week with the students who will be groomed for leadership roles in the fall when Music Doing Good in Schools resumes.
And as if we were not excited enough about Good Job!, Music Doing Good in Schools is taking registrations for Summer Stage, a new two-week intensive musical theater program with an arts-centered focus on acting techniques, music and movement, choreography, stage presence and vocal training for students ages 7-17. No prior theater experience is necessary. It is our mission to tailor the training to every child, regardless of experience, ability or skill level.
The program will take place July 16-20 and July 23-27 at Kawai Piano Gallery, 5800 Richmond Avenue, 77057. Drop off begins at 7:15 am and pick up is at 4:00 pm. We are also offering extended hours from 4 to 6 pm for an additional fee of $10 per camper. Tuition is $125 per child and $100 for additional siblings and family members.
Click here and register your child today. Please see the FAQs for additional details about the program. Deadline for registration is July 9th.
There will be no shortage of fun this summer at Music Doing Good!
